Counseling and Therapy in Old Saybrook

Here in Old Saybrook, we're in the prime of our favorite season; the height of summer.
When you're surrounded by people sitting on their boats at Saybrook Point Marina, or watching people dine out at Liv's, it's easy to think everyone else is doing better than you are.
And here's the truth -- none of us know the quality of anyone's life based on what we see on the outside.
As I said last to one of my virtual clients who mused the same observation in her hometown on the Massachussets coast... "Don't compare your insides to other people's outsides."
As a high achiever, your mind is trained to look for every success gap that you "should" fill in.
But how does that leave you? Feeling pretty poorly about yourself, your life, what you have, and your true worth.
I wanted to take a moment to remind you today that especially as we see the shiny, seemingly happy outsides of other people out and about in the summer (and as reflected on their social media, too!) that your worth isn't determined by evaluating the projections of other's lives.
